Terms and Conditions
Please note that all bookings constitute a legally binding contract.
Arrival
Rooms are available from 3pm on the day of arrival. If you arrive earlier you may leave your car in the car park and for guests arriving by public transport that arrive early your luggage may be brought into the guest house under prior arrangement.
Departure
Rooms must be vacated by 10.00am on the morning of departure should they not be vacated by 10.30 am a full days charge will apply.
Reservations
All accommodation will be reserved for up to seven days for the receipt of deposit. We do not take bookings from local addresses. Pets please call. Children please call first.
Final Accounts
The final accounts are payable the day before arrival, sorry we do not accept cheques. All major credit/debit cards are accepted. We also accept cash.
Cancellations
- At the time of booking the first nights stay will be charged
- If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 100 percent of the first night will be charged.
- You may cancel free of charge until 4 days before arrival. If you cancel in the 4 days before arrival, the cancellation fee will be the total price of the reservation. If you don’t show up, the no-show fee will be the same as the cancellation fee.
Pets
- Any damage caused by pets while staying will result in charges for cleaning or item replacement
- Pets are not allowed in the dining room or lounge
- Pets to be clean and dry before entering our home
- Pets are not allowed to sleep on our beds. Any damaged caused to linen/carpets will be charged to clean or replace
- We do not allow large dogs. Please inform us of your pet size before booking.
- Owners must not allow dogs to be unattended in rooms. Excessive barking not allowed
- We are sorry for the rules but we have had bad experiences in the past.
Laundry
Any damage to towels or linen will be charged to the guest. This includes towels ruined by fake suntan. We have had to throw our linen and towels because of these stains

No Smoking
The Tor Dean Hotel is entirely NON SMOKING
As a condition of booking any infringement of this condition will result with the individual or party being asked to leave with immediate effect, no refunds will be due. A minimum charge of £50 or more charge WILL be levied to cover extra cleaning costs.
Car Park
The car park is available free of charge however we have no control over parking spaces. Do not leave valuables in the car.
We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or vehicles during your stay.
Damage
Any damage caused, for what ever reason will be charged for at full replacement cost.
Termination of Contract
The proprietors have the right to terminate a contract for any guest in our opinion who behaves unreasonable or causes detriment to the well being of other guests. In any event no refund will be due.
We Do Not Allow Hen or Stag
We do not take group booking under the age of 25 years. We do not take stag or hen parties. We ask all guests to respect other guests , please do not congregate in upstairs hallway and please do not slam doors.
No Eating Allowed In Rooms or In Guest Lounge
We do not allow eating in our rooms at any time. No take away food allowed. You will be charged extra cleaning fees
Please note that all bookings constitute a legally binding contract. We are pleased to confirm your reservation as per your request, however please note that the room/ rooms that you have requested may not always be possible and an alternative room of the same or better standard may be allocated
Your Arrival
• Torquay coach station is about 5 minutes away by car, 10 minutes walk.
• Brochures and menus can be provided in large print by prior arrangement.

• There are no parking restrictions on Bampfylde Road.
• Access onto the car park is via Bampfylde Road the car park can accommodate a maximum of 10 cars. The surface of the car park is tarmac.
• Cars are parked at owner risk.
• Entry & exit to and from the car park is the responsibility of each owner/driver.
• Access to the front door is level access, from the car park. With a 20mm threshold into the main building.
• We offer to assist guests with luggage if required.
• The inner front door is always kept closed for security reasons, there is a doorbell located on the right-hand side of the door.
• The external entrance door is 950mm wide.
• External night lights are located to the right of the main entrance door, both are on timers.
• The main reception is located on the ground floor. The inner front door which is also 950mm wide. There is a doorbell located on the right hand side of this door.
• The hallway is 850mm wide minimum, 1500mm maximum.
• The floor is carpeted throughout.
• The bar door opening is 760mm. access to the bar, can also be made from the dining room via double French doors.
• From the reception area the first floor rooms are accessed via 16 stairs leading to a half landing which then leads to a further 4 stairs lead to the final landing.
• There is a timber handrail located on both sides of the main staircase.
• The stairs risers are 150mm high; the treads are 250mm deep.
• The furniture can be moved upon request it is not fixed.
• Tables are 750mm high. The chairs have no arms to them.
• Menus and other text information can be provided in large print.

UPDATE 03/08/2020Late on Friday the Government issued the following new guidance on where Face Coverings should be worn. This guidance will become mandatory this coming Saturday (8th).
Of note is the inclusion of the public areas of hotels (we expect this will apply to all holiday accommodation) as well as indoor attractions, entertainment and cultural venues.
We are sorry but we have to observe new regulations during the covid outbreak. The regulations we are using are referenced above. We will do our best to make your stay safe. Remember to always book direct to save money
We ask if you can help with the following:
• Please bring and use antibacterial wipes. Please Do Not throw them in the toilet, use the trash can. Thank you
• Please bring and use antibacterial hand wash.
Please bring shampoo and soap, we can supply it is necessary
• Please wear a mask in public areas for your protection, this is not a strict rule it is up to you. We will wear masks.
• Please avoid entering public areas if other guests are there.
• Please give us your breakfast order the day before it is gratefully appreciated
• Please pay 4 days minimum prior to your stay by card you can call us or reply to this email with your card details.
• Your room will also be totally cleaned and disinfected before you arrive.
• We have been instructed to keep interaction with guests to a minimum we will do our best but we enjoy having a chat with everyone.
• We will wear masks when talking with you, our hands will be clean before we meet with you.
• We do clean handles, light switches etc but in the interest of safety please wash your hands after touching things in our public areas.
• Your keys have been washed before passing them on to you.
- Please wear slippers or shoes in public areas at all times, bare feet are not permitted
- • If you have any signs of Covid during your stay you must inform us immediately then return home as soon as possible not using public transport. We will notify the local health board with your details.

Please contact us before you book multiple rooms, we do not allow children or young adults to be booked in rooms without contacting us first.
Breakfast is between 8 and 9 we stop serving at 9 last orders around 8:45 Please. We will discuss breakfast times when you check in, would you mind giving us your order the day before. Thank you
